Rosetta Roastery

Claremont, Cape TownSouth Africa
Size in square meters: 110m²Role: Interior Architecture and Interior DesignerContext of site/Location: The café is located at street level in the retail section of a mixed-use office building on Cavendish Street in Claremont, Cape Town

As the flagship home of globally recognised speciality coffee brand Rosetta Roastery, this café was designed to reflect the same precision, artistry and attention to detail found in every cup. Having collaborated with Rosetta since its inception, Marlon Leggat has shaped the interior identity of each of the brand’s spaces, with the Claremont flagship becoming its most refined expression.

Inspired by the elegance of Japanese minimalism and the richness of Art Deco, the interior balances restraint with warmth through a carefully curated palette of Kiaat timber, Verde Guatemala marble, vein-cut travertine, black slate and soft linen.

Sculptural forms, considered detailing and natural materials create an atmosphere that feels calm, tactile and enduring, allowing the ritual of coffee to remain at the heart of the experience. The result is a space that feels timeless rather than trend-driven, seamlessly blending hospitality, craftsmanship and design into an environment that has become synonymous with the Rosetta brand.
